Catalyzing worker co-ops & the solidarity economy

Belfast Woker Co-op Lúnasa Seeks Support after Fire

On Tuesday 26th July, a fire in the kitchen area of Lúnasa Workers Co-op spread quickly; destroying almost all of our appliances, fixtures and fittings in the kitchen and prep area.

All workers and customers were evacuated immediately and thankfully no one was hurt. We would like to pay our gratitude to the workers of the Fire Service who swiftly put out the fire and who risk their lives on a daily basis for our collective good.

Despite the rapid actions of the Fire Service, a lot of damage has been done and the resulting damage will mean that the Caifé will be closed for some time.

The ethos with which the Caifé was built and operated on is one of solidarity and a belief in the possibility of another world.

We are asking for your help and your solidarity in forthcoming weeks and months. We will be engaging in a wide array of fundraising activities; starting with an online crowdfunding campaign and we need your help to spread the word.

You can help us by sharing the crowdfunding page and by encouraging all your friends, family and comrades to contribute.
