NYC Community Land Initiative is an alliance of social justice and affordable housing organizations and academics committed to winning housing for all New Yorkers.  Our alliance — initiated by members of Picture the Homeless — includes grassroots, community- and faith-based, and city-wide organizations, and labor groups who see Community Land Trusts (CLTs) as a promising tool in the fight to address the root causes of homelessness and displacement.   We are laying groundwork for CLTs and other non-speculative housing models that promote development of housing and neighborhoods for and with community members not served by the private market.
