[Editor's note: Below is a short video summary of a recent report from Western Sydney University's Institute for Culture and Society that attempts to capture the costs and benefits of affordable rental housing co-ops, not only financially but also in terms of social and personal outcomes. As the authors write, "The research involves a new, comprehensive methodology designed to look at what goes into the running of a co-operative (financial costs and tenant-member participation in the running of the co-operative) and what benefits these investments generate for tenant-members and the community." Because the full report is over 50MB in size and 170+ pages, we have embedded just the Executive Summary beneath the video. Those who want to dive into the full report can download it here.]
